Find a Dental Service
Free public dental health care is available to all people living with HIV who hold a Health Care or Pension Card in a number of settings across NSW within Local Health Districts (LHDs) which have arrangements to provide enhanced dental health care.
In LHDs where enhanced dental health care for people living with HIV is not available, free dental care could be accessed through public dental health services. All people living with HIV in NSW who hold a Health Care or Pension Card are eligible. Appointments will be allocated based on needs and priority will be given to dental emergency, including
- Bleeding in the mouth that will not stop.
- Swelling of the face from a tooth infection.
- Recent injury to the teeth.
NSW General Public Dental Health Services
Below are the subsidised dental health clinics for all people living with HIV in some LHDs in NSW. Clinic locations and contact details for appointments are varied depending on the LHD in which you live. The appointment offered may not be at your closest clinic but it may give you the earliest appointment. You can choose to go to your closest clinic but you may need to wait for an appointment. Provision of funding assistance up to $500 for dental work including: dental assessment, regular six-monthly check-ups, scaling and cleaning, fillings, extractions and dentures, but does not include cosmetic dentistry at various private dental clinics. For further information please contact the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation intake officers on (02) 9283 8666 or 1800 651 011. - Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD on 1300 369 651.
