Michelle

Michelle is an Aboriginal woman of the Yorta Yorta Nation who has lived with HIV since 1990, a descendant of the Stolen Generation and is a valued member of the Positive Life NSW Positive Speakers Bureau (PSB) team. She lives on the Central Coast of NSW, with her partner, two daughters and five beautiful grandchildren.

As one of two women across Australia who advocate for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people living with HIV, she represents the positive voice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, especially for women. She is a Director on the Board of the Australia Federation of AIDS organisations (AFAO) and an active member of the NAPWHA’s Femme Fatales network including a number of advisory committees. Today Michelle sits on the Board of The Anwernekenhe National HIV Alliance as the HIV-positive representative and Chair, is a community member and convenor of the Positive Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Network (PATSIN).
