Emergency support

Exposure to HIV
Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is a month-long course of anti-HIV medication that can prevent infection if started within 72 hours of exposure. If you think you’ve been exposed to HIV, PEP may prevent you becoming infected – if you act quickly. Generally, you can get PEP at a sexual health clinic or in the accident and emergency sections of most hospitals.

PEP Hotline: 1800 737 669  (24 hour freecall within NSW)
Note: The PEP Hotline is not an information line for general questions about HIV/AIDS.
